Scratch that, it’s still frequent. AFAIC, this bug should perhaps be closed if 3945vg can get a few people to confirm that the newer ubuntu kernel packages fix it. So I put the ‘noapic’ kernel parameter and I get this issue.
Perhaps the bugfix in the compat-wireless drivers made its way through and is now in the kernel.
